Q: I don't have a computer, how do I go about booking?
A: This program is exclusive to the web. In order to redeem your promotion code and get the discount, you must make your booking on www.aircanada.com. There are various ways of getting access to a computer, like family and friends, libraries, internet café etc…
Q: I don't know how to use aircanada.com; who do I call for assistance?
A: Our web site is very well designed and easy to use. You simply need to follow the prompts. This program is meant to give you the full customer experience, try it! If you are not confident about it, ask help from your family and friends.
Q: I tried using the promotion code and it did not work; what is the problem?
A: There may be various reasons why the code may not work:
- You are attempting to book an ineligible itinerary such as an open-jaw or a trip including stopovers. You can only book one one-way trip or a return trip (or round trip).
- You are attempting to book more than 6 passengers.
- You have already used the promotion code once. The promotion code is only valid for one trip (either a one-way or a round-trip).
- You are attempting to book outside the travel eligibility dates
- You are attempting to book an itinerary that includes Codeshare or interline flights. Go AC is valid only on AC operated flights including AC Express and Air Canada Vacations.
Q: Does this replace Family Affair?
A: No. The program is offered in addition to Family Affair and provides eligibility to extended family and to your friends as well. The discount levels are different than Family Affair; the booking experience is different as well. It is your choice which of the programs you will use.
Q: The proposed fare on the web site did not provide a discount from the regular retail fare, why is that?
A: If you're booking a North America itinerary, try again a little later, as your additional 10% discount may take some time to be uploaded in the system. On rare occasions, on select international markets, the additional 15% discount may not be applicable as the fares are already heavily discounted on the web.
Q: I live in Brazil and there is no local website for Air Canada, what do I do?
A: Employees from countries where there is no local websites can access the Canadian edition of aircanda.com. Prices and tickets will be issued and billed in Canadian dollars.
Q: While I'm using Air Canada.com, the booking failed, what do I do?
A: Simply follow the prompts. The error messages will advise you of a point of contact to assist in completing your booking. Please make sure you let them know you are using the Air Canada discount program “Go AC” and have your promotional code and booking details handy.
Q: I want to give this discount to a friend. Do I need to book for them?
A: No. You can provide the promotional code to your friend so he/she can do the booking himself/herself. However, we suggest you keep track of the usage of your promotional codes as you give them out.
Q: I booked 2 or more friends on the same PNR and now one of them must change their dates, what do I do?
A: This type of change cannot be done in the web. You must contact your local Air Canada call centre to process the appropriate change.
Q: I canceled my trip but still have an electronic ticket in the system, how do I go about using the value of the ticket for another trip?
A: Your ticket is valid as per retail ticket validity and fare rules. In order to re-book, you must contact your local Air Canada call centre.
Q: I canceled my trip and since I had purchased a refundable fare, got my ticket refunded; can I still use the same promotional code I used for that ticket?
A: No. This promotional code is now deemed used.
Q: Is this a taxable benefit?
A: No.
Q: I am a new employee, am I eligible for this program?
