Flying domestic soon and checking a bag? Help test a new bag tracking feature in the Air Canada app!
The bag tracking feature leverages our Global Baggage operation’s new five-point scanning to give our employees and customers information about their belongings at five key touchpoints: bag drop, the baggage room (before it’s loaded), aircraft loading, aircraft unloading, and delivery at the baggage carousel. Our airside colleagues play a pivotal role as they ensure all bags are scanned at each of the touchpoints to ensure the information is accurate and timely.
Currently, five-point scanning is in place at all Canadian stations, and we’re looking to test with employees before a rollout to customers later this year, as well as our U.S. and International stations in the coming months. Your feedback, observations and opinions are greatly appreciated as we prepare for the next phase of this initiative.
If you’re taking a domestic flight, are planning to check a bag and want to help us test our app and success rate, here’s what you need to do:
