Tax Increases for Business Class, Premium Economy leisure travel from UK, France, Hong Kong, Morocco and India
Several countries have imposed a “luxury departure tax” on passengers traveling in Business Class and Premium Economy that Air Canada must collect and remit on their behalf.
Important:
Effective September 14th 2023, employees and anyone travelling on their passes will pay a higher tax rate when seated in J or O cabins.

Yes, the changes have taken immediate effect.
Children (15 years of age and under) that travel in Y class will be exempt from the luxury tax.
If seated in the O or J cabin, the full tax will apply. The billing will be adjusted at the time of reconciliation.
