Business Travel Policy For travel on Other Airlines via myIDTravel

This policy presents the rules governing business travel on other airlines for Air Canada (AC) employees with access to the MyIDTravel site. Its purpose is to clarify the conditions under which such travel is permitted.

Useful Definitions

myIDTravel:
Lufthansa’s integrated travel management system for the airline industry.
Duty Travel:
The myIDTravel website refers to business travel as duty travel.

Rules & Limitations

Business travel can sometimes take you to places not served by the Air Canada network. To facilitate registering yourself on another airline, please read the following guidelines about booking business travel through the myIDTravel website.

Usage is monitored, and any abuse of this program or failure to follow the rules, terms or conditions of myIDTravel for duty travel may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment with Air Canada. Moreover, this may lead to a suspension or complete revocation of personal travel privileges.

Rules

Only valid for business travel sanctioned and approved by Air Canada.

Valid as soon as the employee’s travel profile is active on the Employee Travel Site (no minimum service required).

Subject to the terms and conditions of Air Canada’s interline business travel agreement with each participating carrier. When booking, it is imperative that you:

  • Familiarize yourself with the terms negotiated with the airline you plan to take
  • Book your travel according to the agreement
  • Book your cabin as per your job level

Must have authorization from supervisor to book business travel through myIDTravel for Duty Travel.

Must provide a valid form of payment upon booking (i.e.: credit card).

Limitations

Not valid for personal travel or for any business travel that has not been approved by Air Canada.

Must only reserve booking class permitted in the interline agreement with the other airline.

Procedure

Reserving a flight on myIDTravel is self-serve.
To do so:

Non-compliance

Any disregard of the conditions outlined above could jeopardize the interline agreement between Air Canada and the other airline. Usage is monitored and any misuse will result in disciplinary action, including suspension or complete revocation of travel privileges, as well as termination of employment with Air Canada.
